Trackify Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 10, 2026 · Effective date: September 10, 2026
Trackify (“Trackify“, “we“, “us“, or “our“) is a Shared Safety Assurance Platform operated by Securecode Systems Limited (“Company“), registered at 7, Akibu Aregbe, Oshodi-Isolo, Lagos, Nigeria. Trackify is built on a simple principle: consent-first safety, never surveillance. Location sharing exists to help people look out for one another, and it only happens once the device being tracked has been paired and accepted by whoever holds that device, not covert monitoring. This Privacy Policy explains what information Trackify collects, why we collect it, how it is used and shared, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Trackify mobile application (Android and iOS) and any related backend services (together, the “Service“).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who This Policy Applies To
Trackify is designed for organizations, families, schools, and teams that need to keep track of the safety and location of their members (each a “Tracked Person“, also referred to as a “Trackee“). Two categories of people may use or be affected by the Service:
- Account holders / organization members — people who register, log in, and manage tracking for their organization, family, school, or team.
- Tracked Persons — the people, vehicles, or devices whose location is shared with an organization or family administrator (for example, a family member’s phone, an employee’s device, or a school bus).
Tracking only happens through the following process, and cannot be started any other way:
- An administrator creates a Trackee profile in their account.
- The administrator generates a pairing code for that profile.
- The Trackee installs Trackify in device mode on the device to be tracked.
- The Trackee enters the pairing code and accepts to join the administrator’s group as a tracked member.
Location sharing only begins once this pairing is accepted on the device. Even after accepting, the Trackee can stop further location sharing at any time directly from their device (see Section 4).
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account information | Name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed), profile/organization details |
| Organization / tenancy data | Organization name and type (business, family, school, team, assets), members, invites, roles, and organizational units |
| Tracked Person profiles | Name and relationship/role details for people being tracked (family member, student, employee, asset, etc.) |
| Consent records | Whether consent for tracking/alerts was granted, by whom, and when, to support safety and legal compliance |
| Communications | Messages you send us for support, plus metadata about those messages |
2.2 Information collected automatically
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Precise and background location | GPS/network location of a Tracked Person’s device, including while the app is running in the background or the screen is off, so an organization/family administrator can view current location, movement history (“journeys”), and geofence/landmark alerts |
| Device information | Device identifiers, model, OS version, app version, push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging), battery/connectivity status relevant to tracking reliability |
| Device pairing & assignment data | Pairing codes and assignment records linking a physical device to a Tracked Person |
| Alerts & notifications | Safety alerts, remote tracking commands, and notification delivery records |
3. How We Use Information
- Provide core Service functionality: real-time and historical location tracking, journeys, geofencing, alerts, and remote tracking commands.
- Create and manage accounts, organizations, and Tracked Person profiles.
- Send safety alerts and push notifications (e.g., arrival/departure, low battery, out-of-bounds events).
- Verify identity (email/phone verification, one-time passcodes) and secure accounts.
- Maintain consent/pairing records to support lawful processing.
- Monitor, diagnose, and improve reliability, performance, and security of the Service.
- Respond to support requests and communicate service-related updates.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information or Tracked Person location data to third parties.
4. Consent & Location Tracking
Location tracking is central to Trackify’s safety purpose, and it is built to be consent-first, never surveillance. As described in Section 1, tracking only starts once a Trackee pairs their own device with an administrator’s account using a pairing code and accepts to join as a tracked member. An administrator can create a profile and generate a pairing code, but cannot make a device start sharing location — only accepting the pairing code on that device does that.
The Trackee is always in control of their own device. Trackify’s device mode includes a feature that lets the Trackee stop further location sharing at any time, directly from their device. Once stopped, no further location updates are sent from that device unless the Trackee pairs again.
Background/precise location access is requested on-device via the operating system’s permission dialogs. You can review or revoke location permissions at any time in your device settings, though this will disable core tracking and safety features.
5. How We Share Information
- Within your organization/family — location, status, and profile information about a Tracked Person is visible to the administrators and authorized members of the organization or family the Tracked Person belongs to.
- Service providers — we use trusted infrastructure and processing partners to operate the
Service, including:
- Cloud hosting and application infrastructure (Digital Ocean)
- Google Firebase (push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging, and related Google Firebase infrastructure)
- OpenStreetMap for displaying locations and landmarks
- Legal & safety — we may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Trackify, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — information may be transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or a policy at least as protective.
6. Data Retention
We retain account, organization, Tracked Person, location, and consent data for as long as the associated account or organization remains active, and for a limited period afterward as required for legal, security, or legitimate business purposes (e.g., dispute resolution). Location history is retained for a period of 90 days before being aggregated or deleted, unless a longer period is required by law or requested by the organization administrator. The app includes an account deletion feature that lets you permanently delete your account and all associated data from our systems at any time (see Section 8).
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted network transport (HTTPS/TLS), hashed password storage, access controls, and secure token-based authentication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights & Choices
- Access & correction — you can review and update your account and profile information in the app or by contacting us.
- Location controls — you can disable location permissions at the OS level at any time, which will stop location tracking (and may disable safety features).
- Notifications — you can manage push notification permissions in your device settings.
- Deletion — you can delete your account at any time directly from the app under organization profile module, which permanently deletes your account and associated data from our systems, subject to any retention we are legally required or permitted to keep. You can also request deletion by contacting contact@trackify.ng.
- Regional rights — depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection law (e.g., NDPR, GDPR, CCPA), including the right to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
9. Children’s Privacy
Trackify tracks devices, not people directly, and enrollment always requires the pairing process described in Section 1 to be completed on the device itself. Trackify does not ask for or knowingly collect information from minors directly, and schools typically use Trackify to track shared vehicles (such as a school bus) rather than individual student devices.
If a parent or guardian chooses to give their child a phone and pair that phone as a Trackee (for example, under a family account), that is the parent or guardian’s own decision to make. Where Trackify is rolled out on wearable devices for minors, the parent or legal guardian completes the pairing on the child’s behalf and is the one responsible for that enrollment. If you believe a minor’s device has been paired without appropriate parental oversight, contact us at contact@trackify.ng and we will take appropriate action.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the app or via email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
